September is BioBlitz Month!

Sign up with iNaturalist then install the app on your phone and head out to our woods, meadows and wetlands during September.

A BioBlitz is a species scavenger hunt where you find and record data on different wild living things (plants, animals, insects, fungi) in a certain area and a short amount of time. For this hunt the “certain area” is all of New Hampshire and the “short amount of time” is all of September. Start by walking any ACC trail and making observations then branch out by cruising off-trail to vernal pools, young forests, and shrubby meadows. Take it easy, there is a whole world to observe and you have all of September to participate.

Resources:

We prefer you do not take a dog off-trail, the objective is to observe and record wildlife not to annoy them.

You don't need to be an expert to participate - iNaturalist can help you identify the species of plants, insects, fungi, and wildlife that you find! You'll learn more about the world around you and will help your town learn more about the natural resources in your community.
